Betfred Great Getaway Giveaway: Congratulations to our final winners!

Congratulations to the final couple of winners of the Betfred Great Getaway Giveaway - David Lamptey and Vickie Florence.

The pair have each won an £8k holiday voucher and £2k in cash as part of our three-week long promotion that's only entry requirement was to place a Lotto bet at any of our shops up and down the country.

Vickie said: “I was at work when I got a phone call from my dad to say there had been an announcement on screen in the shop that I’d won something. I thought it would be a £5 free bet or something like that.

"It wasn’t until I got the call from Betfred that I realised it was a holiday. It still hasn’t really sunk in yet.

“We’ve already decided that we are heading to Cyprus in September. It’s not been the best of years, but this is definitely a sign that things are turning.

“I play the Irish Lottery every week and will sometimes play the bingo whilst my partner picks out his horses in the shop.

“When I went back into the shop on Sunday, I was greeted by party poppers and silly string. They are a great team headed by Steven, the manager.

“It is a fantastic prize, and I really can’t thank Betfred enough.”

David said: "“I found out when I went into the shop on Sunday to put my lottery bets on. Everyone came to shake my hand and congratulate me. I thought they got it mixed up and must have been my brother that had won.

“Craig, the shop manager, had taken a screenshot on his phone and showed me. It was Craig who made me fill in the slip, so it’s a big thank you to him. I wasn’t going to do it, but he said, ‘you may as well’. Glad I took his advice.

“Everyone I have spoken to, both in the shop and at work, are really pleased for me.

“It was actually my birthday on July 12, the day of the draw, so it was an incredible birthday present. Almost like fate.

Lotto Results

“I play the 49’s all the time and so the Irish Lottery also but only bet on the numbers.

“My wife and I are strongly considering the Caribbean. It is our 30th anniversary coming up and we never really had a proper honeymoon, so this will put that right. Somewhere like Barbados or Antigua we are looking at, so thank you to Betfred”.
