Betfred Big Winner: Nifty 50 winner has friend to thank for £13k payout

A tip from a pal at his local Betfred shop landed Peter Keeling £13k from an £11 Yankee on the Nifty 50 Lotto.

It was only the second time father-of-three Peter had tried our increasingly-popular game - and now he's planning an "awesome" Christmas and family holiday in the New Year.

Self-employed gardener and painter Peter, 54, is a regular at the Betfred shop near his home at Spring Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire.

He took the advice of his friend to try out the Nifty 50 with seconds to go, picking the numbers 10, 25, 27 and 46 completely at random.

Peter said: "I usually play bingo or other numbers games, but my mate suggested Nifty 50 so I gave it a go. It was high fives in the shop when I won and you know what I'm giving my mate a little, not a lot, by way of reward.

"It was only the second time I'd tried Nifty 50 and it won't be the last. I'll be giving my wife some money and we'll make sure we have an awesome Christmas.

"It will be up to the other half to decide where we go on holiday next year. Spain or Portugal perhaps, but it'll more than likely be the Greek island of Zante as we have family that live there."
