Betfred Big Winner: Sailor buoyant after £37k Bingo win
The West End is top of the agenda for a Betfred regular after winning £37,500 from £10 in the Monthly Madness Bingo Room.
The 68-year-old travelled the high seas visiting all corners of the world while serving in the Merchant Navy.
Despite this big win, the former sailor - who became a popular and long-serving postman in Tyneside - insists his globe-trotting days are over.
He explained: "I don't do very much travelling abroad anymore having been all over when I was younger taking in most of South America - and I particularly remember New Orleans in the USA.
"Most of the £37.5k will go in the bank, although I do enjoy the theatre in London so will be going a few more times in 2025.
"The celebrations for my biggest win in over 15 years with Betfred have been muted, but that's not to say I don't feel really happy. It's a brilliant start to the new year, that's for sure."
He went on: "I used to play the Irish Lotto and go into the various local Betfred shops, but then during Covid I switched to online and the bingo... and I'm so glad I did!"
