Betfred Big Winner: Customer celebrates £10k Irish Lotto double

Betfred regular Tony Williams has been bowled over by a £10k win from just a 25p bet on the Irish Lotto.

He runs one of only four companies in the world that manufacture crown green bowls and loves a lotto bet in his spare time.

Father-of-two Tony, 63, is a popular customer at the Betfred shop on Honiton Way, Penketh, near the new-and-improved company HQ in Warrington.

He opted for the same five numbers that he used two years ago - 5, 36, 37, 44 and 45 - when also winning £10k from a 25p wager on the Irish.

History has repeated itself and Tony (pictured below), who knew nothing about crown green bowling when he went to the Jobcentre nearly 50 years ago and took the work on offer as a bowls turner, celebrated his good fortune at Betfred with a bottle of champagne.

He said: "It’s all a bit of a shock to be honest, but now we'll be able to have an even better Christmas and get a good holiday booked for the new year.

"We will be going to Dubai. Why? Well, I've got two sons aged 19 and 27 and they are not interested in going to Spain or Greece, so it's looking like Dubai where I have never been. They are very fussy!"
