Betfred Big Winner: Hard-working carer wins £91k on Irish Lotto

A care worker from the Wirral has won £91,575 from a £2.50 stake on the Irish Lotto at Betfred.
The 44-year-old grandmother, who works 12-hour days at the care home, was described by Betfred boss Fred Done as a "most-worthy winner".
She had 10 separate 25p wagers on her lucky numbers 1, 10, 13, 14 and 22, which are all based around her family's birthdays.
After her much-loved grandmother, who always played the Irish Lotto, died in 2015, the mother-of-two vowed to carry on the tradition using the same numbers.
"I just thought it would be a nice thing to do, a family tradition or legacy to my nan," she sad.
"I will pay off some of my mortgage and then we'll have a brilliant Christmas. As for the rest of the winnings, we'll be going on a great holiday to the Caribbean or Mauritius... somewhere like that I'm dreaming about.
"It’s surreal what's happened. I just can’t believe it. I had to get my husband and people at work to check the numbers had actually come out about 20-odd times."
The jubilant winner, who works 60 hours a week including overtime for around £30k a year, has no intention of giving up work - and she's even on shift at the home for Christmas Day.
Betfred founder Fred said:
"I feel so pleased that such a worthy, hard-working customer of ours can win a life-changing amount of £91,000 from such a small stake.
"She clearly puts those she cares for ahead of herself, but I'm betting she'll be having quite a family knees up on Boxing Day!"
