Betfred Big Winner: £24k Irish Lotto joy for hard-working nurse

A nurse took a break from his studies to find out he'd won big at Betfred.

The 48-year-old father-of-two had opted for a lucky dip on the Irish Lotto and scooped £24k from a £3 bet.

He's a regular customer at the Betfred shop on the Old Kent Road near his home in London.

He said: "I'm studying for a nursing degree to advance myself and had a break during my studies at home to check my numbers. I couldn't believe I had won so much from just three pound.

"I punched the air in delight! What a great start to the new year. I have already booked a family holiday to Ghana where I was born so this win will pay for that with perhaps some change for a new car.

"I have been with Betfred for more than 10 years and go in the shop on the Old Kent Road four times a week where all the staff are very friendly."
