Betfred Big Winner: Egypt beckons for £60k Lotto winner
Jim McDermot and his wife Caroline always regretted not seeing the pyramids when they went on holiday to Egpyt.
But now the Betfred customer from Scotland can afford to return to see one of the Wonders of the World after winning £60k from just a £2 wager on the French Lotto.
He opted for the numbers 8, 14, 28 and 33 and they all came out, leaving the 63-year-old retired engineer dumbfounded.
"I just sat down and reflected on my good fortune," said Jim, who's been a Betfred customer for over 10 years.
He went on: "Most of the winnings will be going into the bank for our retirement, but we will be going back to Egypt to see the pyramids as last time we went to a Red Sea resort and never saw the pyramids which was a shame."
Celtic season ticket holder Jim, from Glasgow added: "I do the Irish Lottery as well and have previously won £1.5k, but this is by far my biggest win - and all for £2.
"My formula? Well, I just go for spaced-out numbers."
