Betfred Big Winner: Retiree scoops £15k from £3 stake on the 49’s

Grandad Kenneth Pugh plans to replace his leaking roof after winning £15,700 at Betfred.
Retired chemical process worker Kenneth, 70, from County Durham, won with three £1 bets on the 49's numbers game.
He said: “The weather has changed quite dramatically with all this rain, so I’ve just got to get the roof sorted out… and quickly.
“The roof is very old and needs replacing, so that job is top priority now.”
Family man Kenneth is a regular at the Betfred shop on Whinbush Way, Darlington, which he visits virtually every day.
His numbers 5, 9 and 17, which he has stuck with for many years, are based around the birthday of his grandchild Bobbie-Anne. He added the extra number, 23, at random.
The jubilant winner added: “As well as the roof, Christmas is around the corner so there will be plenty of presents for my family.
“As for Bobbie-Anne, I’m not promising anything but I guess there will be something for her too!”
Betfred boss Fred Done said:
“Great timing for you there, Kenneth! The weather has been ropey, so I’m glad to be in a position to help you pay for a new roof.”
