Betfred Big Winner: Unusual plans for great gran after £37k Irish Lotto scoop

Great grandma Netta Wallbank didn't think twice about what she would do with her share of a big Betfred win.
She told stunned son Julian Salisbury: "I'm putting it towards the cost of my funeral!"
Father-of-two Julian had just handed over £3.5k to his 88-year-old mother as her share of a £37k won on the Irish Lotto when she told him bluntly about the unusual way she plans to spend her windfall.
Julian, a 64-year-old bench joiner, placed his four trebles totalling £50 at the Betfred shop on Hough Lane, Leyland, Lancashire on the Irish Lotto. His jackpot was boosted by £2.5k in Betfred bonuses.
He said: "I'm putting my share towards my pension when I retire. As for my mum, she told me straight it was for her funeral. She likes a joke but she wasn't joking at all."
Julian added: "The numbers 2, 8 and 20 were just randomly selected. I always go to Betfred because the odds are better. It was a double celebration as it was my birthday recently too."
Betfred boss Fred Done said:
"I must say, what a very sensible mother and son team. Most of our winners book a posh holiday or buy a swanky new car, but not Julian... and certainly not Netta!"
