Ex-police community support officer Joanne Hughes will be investigating the second-hand car market after winning £15,000 on Betfred's Nifty 50 numbers game.

All her numbers came up after she bet just 25p on an accumulator with a lucky dip at the Betfred shop at Erdington in the West Midlands.

Joanne, aged 50,who quit her police role in north Wales due to ill health, said: "I do the French and Irish Lotteries as well as the Nifty 50.

"In the last two years since I have been a Betfred customer, I have won £175 on the Irish and previous to this big win, I have also won £200 on the Nifty 50.

"To win so much from a small stake is amazing. What am I going to do with my winnings? Well I used to drive but not had a car for two years and you don't get as much freedom on the buses.

"So I'm actively on the look out now for a nice second-hand car, a couple of years old with a low mileage would be ideal. It will make my shopping a lot easier and I might be able to drive somewhere on holiday this summer."

How to Play Nifty 50

Nifty 50 is a standard lottery game which involves 50 balls, with the standard six-ball draw giving players a chance to win Fred’s top prize of £5 million.
