Dreams come true! Two lucky Betfred punters win £10,000 prizes in Great Getaway Giveaway

A huge congratulations are in order, to the week two winners of our Great Getaway Giveaway!

Our second batch of lucky customers have both won an £8,000 holiday voucher as well as £2,000 cash after placing Lotto bets in their local Betfred shops.

Supermarket delivery driver Neil Cutsworth couldn’t believe he’d won.

“I found out on Saturday morning when I was left a voicemail but I still didn’t believe it. I picked my wife up from work and we still weren’t sure.

“I went into the shop in the afternoon and gave Sue, who had put my bet on, a massive hug. It was a big surprise and a bit overwhelming.

“That shop team is brilliant. Mike is the manager, and we have a great craic. They’re happy to make you a drink, have the banter, and although I live three miles away, I wouldn’t go to another shop. I like the best odds guaranteed for the horses, and always play the lottos.

“I have a Betfred account just in case I can’t get to the shop to get my numbers on, but I'm glad that I was in the shop this week.

“I went to Yarmouth last year with the grandkids and the shop team there were just the same. I mentioned it when I got back to Hessle, and Sue rang the Yarmouth shop to tell them… and that shop had a winner last week.

“I am due to have treatment for cancer at the end of September and through October, but the outlook is very hopeful that it has been caught early.

“Once I hopefully get the all clear, we’ll be using these vouchers to have a bloody good celebration.

“I have always wanted to go to Barcelona and watch a game at the Nou Camp, so that is one possibility.”  

Lotto Results

Our second winner of the week, Steve Harrison, also wasn’t sure he was the lucky winner at first.

“I had a missed call on Saturday morning, but didn’t think anything of it until I went into the Betfred shop to do my Irish Lottery on Saturday mid-afternoon. Danny and Mital, the lads behind the counter, were looking at me with a grin and half giggling, so I wondered what was going on.

“They then showed me the screen and told me I had won, but I thought ‘I can’t, I haven’t put my bet on yet’. But then realised it must have been the bet I put on the other day.

The screen said ‘Steve Harrison from Syston’, but also said Tamworth immediately beneath (winning shop), so I still wasn’t totally sure. However, I got another call on Sunday to confirm.

“There was another punter in the shop who was laughing at the pronunciation of Syston on the TV as he had seen the draw in the morning. He said, “Ah, so you’re Steve then.

Lottery Betting

“I am absolutely elated, although not as elated as the wife, as she is going through the holiday pages now. We particularly like Malta, but haven’t completely decided yet.

“I play the 49’s and the Irish Lotto and have a football bet in the football season. I particularly like the Treble Chance Bet on the Irish Lottery, I really think that is decent value.

“I know the Betfred guys in the shop, and they’re good lads, they handled it well.
