There’s a seven-race all-weather card from Wolverhampton running alongside this afternoon’s action at Goodwood.

The Dunstall Park venue stages seven races on what is a competitive day of punting opportunities.

15:45 – Cuban Grey @ 3/1

CUBAN GREY ran a big race when just caught close home at Wolverhampton 24 days ago and the three-year-old can go one better in the five-furlong handicap at 15:45.

Robert Cowell’s charge looked the winner in runner over course and distance last time out, but the three-year-old had over-raced a little in the early stages of the contest and was narrowly beaten.

Cuban Grey may get an easier time of things in front this afternoon, he is in a good form, off an unchanged mark and at the scene of his only career victory.

16:20 – Salta Resta @ 8/1

SALTA RESTA was given an overly-patient ride when not getting a clear run and staying on strongly at Bath last time out and that gave an indication that a win wouldn’t be far away.

Victor Dartnall’s charge ran with credit over six furlongs on his only previous start at Wolverhampton and the trainer has enlisted the services of handy three-pound claimer Rhiain Ingram this afternoon.

Stall seven is no issue for a horse who will be held up off a likely strong pace and it would be no surprise to see the four-year-old rattle home for victory.

17:25 – Snooze Lane @ 5/1

SNOOZE LANE has had nine of his 11 career starts at Wolverhampton and the four-year-old has a pretty impressive record at the West Midlands venue.

The Sarah Hollinshead-trained runner’s record at the Dunstall Park track reads 8,5,2,6,2,1,1,3,9 and the sharp left-handed track appears to bring out the best in the son of Free Eagle.

Snooze Lane put in a poor effort when missing the break at this course last time out, but that can easily be forgiven and the four-year-old has dropped a pound in the weights for that disappointing run.
