The Betfred 2000 Guineas is set to take place at Newmarket on Saturday, May 3 (15:35). It is one of Britain's five Classic races and also serves as the opening leg of the Triple Crown.
Betfred, proud sponsor of all five British Classics, are offering £2m to connections of any horse that completes that trifecta - the 2000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger - this season.
This race was first run back in April 1809, and by the mid-1860s was considered one of Britain's most prestigious races for three-year-olds.

Field of Gold (2/1) is the current favourite for the opening Classic, on the back of his impressive win in the Craven Stakes this month.
O'Brien's main hope Twain (5/1) follows behind, while there's nothing to split Ruling Court and Scorthy Champ (7/1).
Appleby-trained Shadow Of Light (8/1), the winner of last season’s Dewhurst Stakes, represents 2024's winning connection and Expanded (10/1) is another notable runner for O'Brien.
