When is the 1000 Guineas 2025?

Betfred continue to lead the way in the sport of horse racing and last year, they announced that they are the new sponsors of the 1000 and 2000 Guineas, completing the full set of Classics alongside the Betfred Derby, Betfred Oaks and Betfred St Leger.
Betfred have given away tickets to all five Betfred Classics, as well as £2,000 in cash and this weekend, both the 2000 and 1000 Guineas takes place at Newmarket. But When is the 1000 Guineas? Read on to find out more.
When is the Betfred 1000 Guineas?
The Betfred 1000 Guineas is scheduled to take place at Newmarket on Sunday, May 4 (15:40). It is one of Britain's five Classic races and it will see the best three-year-old fillies take each other on.
This race was first run back in 1814, and it remains one of the must-watch events of the sporting calendar.
How long is the Betfred 1000 Guineas?
The 1000 Guineas is run over one mile, and unlike the 2000 Guineas, is restricted to fillies only. Run over a short distance on the flat, this is all about speed.
Who has won the Betfred 1000 Guineas?
Last year's race was won by Elmaka, with Silvestre de Sousa on board. It was a remarkable finish after a poor start saw her at the back of the field but some searing pace saw her win the fight over Porta Fortuna and Ramatuelle.
Let’s hope for more drama this time around.
Desert Flower is the current favourite to win this race at 10/11, while Lake Victoria is 10/3 and at 5/1 is Red Letter. Bedtime Story is 12/1, Duty First is 14/1 and Exactly is 16/1.
