Mahoning Valley Race 5 (19:07) – Mali Bali (6)
Trainer Anthony Farrior is winning at a fabulous rate at this meet. His Love the Sauce (1) is likely to be favourite to add to his tally here. In her only start at Mahoning Valley, she wired a field at the level below this one. She was used up in a speed duel at Charles Town subsequently. With the rail post, she may get no breathers on the front again.
Love the Sauce (1) is the runner to fear but Holiday Lights (7) and Mali Bali (6) may be playable alternatives. Both gals have hit their best form in recent weeks. They met here on 25 January with Holiday Lights (7) winning by a length and a half. Mali Bali (6) franked the form by winning next time. She looked a tad unlucky when second to Holiday Lights (7) as she was short of room at in deep stretch.

Mahoning Valley Race 8 (20:31) – Honor the Cross (7)
Sailingtheislands (8) had Polster (5) almost three lengths adrift when second in a similar race to this one last month. That was a decent race for the level won in a fast time. He's very speedy and this track has been playing well to front end types lately.
Sailingtheislands (8) is dangerous but maybe either of The Anthony Farrior trained pair runners Honor the Cross (7) and Bigtonten (6) could outfinish him. Both Erik Barbaran and Luis Rivera ride plenty of winners for the trainer so it's hard to know who is on the first string. Preference is for Honor the Cross (7). He was used up on the speed at Laurel last time. He's effective over shorter. His stablemate Bigtonten (6) is playable too. He broke his maiden at second asking at Charles Town. There may be a lot better to come from him.

Turf Paradise Race 5 (21:55) – Pink Ace (4)
Pink Ace (4) set the pace but failed to last home by a neck at this level on her comeback. She had been away seven months so may have been short of full fitness. The five year old has speed. Her jockey's hand may have been forced from a rail drawn on her return. She has stalked the pace and ran well in the past so her rider probably has tactical options. Resilient (1) and Bourbon Tiger (2) finished behind her last time. The last named was also coming off a long lay off so may improve.
At her best, Emily Smiles (5) is capable of outfinishing this field. She has been away since May but her trainer is very capable of bringing her back fit. Union Coach (7) has a recency edge on her. She made an encouraging return at Santa Anita. Like the selection, she has form in California that makes her a contender.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 8 (21:15) – Delightful Dixie (10)
Moor Strength (2) made a fine return to the dirt last month. She had Lovielee (8) over four lengths back in third when runner up at this level. The cut back half a furlong may not be an issue as there should be a ton of speed to chase down. She will have to find the gaps late on from an inside draw.
St. Joe Jet (9) and Delightful Dixie (10) may get cleaner trips from outside stalls. The first named ran a career best when beating a field of one time career winners last month. She has now ran big in all three starts when top local rider Samy Camacho has been aboard. Not for the first time Delightful Dixie (10) didn't stay a mile last time. In her one start on dirt, she ran fourth in a better claimer over six furlongs. Her best form on turf and Tapeta came over today's distance. She gets a narrow vote.
