US Horse Racing Tips: Three Stateside picks for Tuesday

Our US Racing expert Paul Quigley managed to land one winner in yesterday's tips, and he's back again today hoping for further success.

Below you can find his US Racing tips for Tuesday, as well as his reasoning...

19:35 Mahoning Valley (Race 6) - Time The Avenger @ SP

It's hard to rule out any of these. Even A Bit Of Captain (6), who has been well beaten in two starts since he returned, is not a no-hoper. Those were better races at Tampa. He may benefit from a few months of warm-weather seasoning in Florida.

Run For Reagan (5) and TIME THE AVENGER (3) finished second in similar races to this one last time. Maybe the latter has the more upside. He couldn’t reel in a runner who got a soft lead. The fact his new trainer runs him back just seven days after claiming him seems a positive.

If he repeats his last run, Sage Runner (1) could double up. He blew away a field of one-time winners. Prior to that victory, he had looked a win-shy type. Maybe the penny has suddenly dropped with him.

His last race looks stronger than that of Mexitexafornia (7). He had the speedy Capture Mi (2) just behind him when second last month.

Don't Stop (4) finished just in front of Capture Mi when a neck second at this level in late February. That four-year-old has come to life since moving to Mahoning Valley. He is one of the more likely winners in here.

21:57 Will Rogers Downs (Race 7) - Okie Magic @ SP

Quite a few chances here. Ship Of Dreams (8) has been absent since a fine second against Oklahoma-bred at Remington in December. She is proven fresh. That said, she will have to be on her game as some of her rivals are race fit.

Inari (4) is one of them. She was second best to a talented filly here last month. Her trainer had her going very good in the second half of last year.

She is playable, but slight preference is for OKIE MAGIC (3). The claimer she won last month has been franked as the placed horses have come back to score.

Railey Jean (1) wired a field of maidens over course and distance last month. She did it by open lengths. Paula M (2) drawn to her immediate outside may ensure she doesn’t get it easy on the front.

Grace the Kingdom (5), Rainbow Angel (6) and Business as Usual (7) can be involved off the pick of their claiming form. Of that trio, Rainbow Angel has dome some of her best work on this track and seems the most interesting.

22:25 Turf Paradise (Race 4) - Sbagliato @ SP

Two runners with form in California can take money here.

Neon Lights (2) had failed to last home in a trio of races at Santa Anita. He made all on his local debut, snapping a long losing streak in the process. He could double up going for the sharpest trainer on the grounds.

This is a deeper race than he won last time. In addition, there is more speed in here for him to deal with. With that in mind, SBAGLIATO (3) may be worth siding with.

He can be forgiven his comeback in January as he was parked behind slow fractions. He has a decent late kick at his best, winning at Santa Anita and Del Mar late last year. Him running here for his new trainer can be viewed as a negative. It does give a better chance of winning than in California.

The standard-setter at this level is Sanger (7). He was making it back to back victories when scoring cozily last month. The six year old has looked an improved runner since returning to the turf. He does go from the rail to outside so may have to be used more early to get a good early position. Lucky Code (6) finished almost four lengths behind him last time.

Lloyds Logic (4) is unexposed on the grass. He will be an early factor at least. In contrast, McClusky (5) will be suited with pace to chase down.
