Tuesday was a good day here on the US Extra Place Races column with an outright winner plus a place from our three picks for the day.

We go three-deep again for Wednesday evening and as always, every selection is from outside the top three according to the odds on the Morning Line…

*Betfred will price up US Races closer to Post Time…

In the 20:11 at Finger Lakes we have a three-year-old Filly who has hit the board in four straight sprint races on this very track but is priced up as the fourth choice of seven. That certainly piques my interest somewhat.

Lady Quinn by the stylish Grade II winner Central Banker has shown decent speed in her early career and already has two wins under her belt, both at tracks with generally better fields than what she’ll be facing tonight at Aqueduct and Charles Town.

In raw terms of Equibase Speed Figures, three of her past four runs have been in the 60s, which she had failed to do previously on the dirt, which shows there has been some improvement in recent outings. Nothing too fancy but in a small field, a good chance to finish in that all-important top three to get us an each-way place.

My Modus Operandi when putting together these columns is usually to find a horse with consistency and/or find a horse stepping down in class. This brings us to Mo Stylish in the 21:00 at Delaware Park.

This five-year-old is neither of those things and doesn’t fit my usual type. She’s 12/1 on the Morning Line and rated as a fairly big outsider. Yet back in June we saw her win on back-to-back occasions and blowing away her best Equibase Speed Figures with two runs in the 60s when her previous best had been mired in the 40s.

Those performances were very much out of character and last time out, it was back in the 20s whilst finishing third. In her past nine races at this track though, she’s finished in the top three no fewer than seven times.

Tough to fully grasp whether this Melton Wilson-trained Mare is any good but that good track record coupled with those two fine runs back in June make her an each-way play if we get anything like the 12s the market is expected to open at.

Going back to Finger Lakes for our third and final selection of the night and it is not often we see two selections for fillies by Central Banker but here we are.

Early on in her career, four-year-old Wabaunsee took to the track at Belmont Park but it was fairly evident early on that those fields would be too much for her. A swift change of plan saw her stabled at Finger Lakes and she’s been based there ever since.

Her recent form though has been a significant step forward having won twice and placed on three other occasions in her previous five starts. That is pretty good going and returns to my usual haunt of track form and consistency.

Like my other selection at the New York track, nothing fancy but when priced-up as the fourth choice of seven on the Morning Line, should provide value and a real chance to hit the board.
