Today's US Racing Odds

21:30 Will Rogers Downs (Race 6) - Ru Mor Starter @ SP

The principals raced in two events here on March 17. In terms of speed figures, Lone Tree (3) ran by far the fastest.

He wired a field of maiden claimers by eight lengths in a really quick time on the day. A repeat of that effort and he will be hard to beat. It will be interesting to see if he’s ridden as aggressively early as he has a pacey type drawn on his outside. He is one of three or possibly four in here who will take money.

Five of this field ran in the other race here on March 17. It was at today’s level over six furlongs. The winner of that race was a class dropper. Ru Mor Starter (7) did the best of these running second. He has had quite a few chances to win career race number two.

In fairness, most of them were for trainers with poor records. He is likely to get speed to chase down. The cut back half a furlong probably suits Pay Raise (5) who finished two lengths behind him more. He was softened up in a speed duel. If he is quicker than Lone Tree (3), he could wire this field.

Lemon Meringue (1) ran behind the selection last time. He did get behind early on and made late inroads. The rail drawn runner has sat within striking distance in the past. If he does, he’s a chance to outfinish this group.

21:57 Will Rogers Downs (Race 7) - Kirbys Dewdrop @ SP

Two last time out maiden winners are of interest here. Rebelena (5) graduated by six lengths at Remington in December. She is proven fresh and her trainer has a decent record with lay off runners. She’s been working well suggesting she is live on his comeback.

Kirbys Dewdrop (3) won just only three weeks ago. She didn’t beat much but did it on her career debut. This is a big rise in class. There may be more to come from her second time out and another half a furlong to travel. She gets the vote.

A trio of these ran in a stake here on 17 March. Competitive Bond (2) had the best form of them going into that race. She stalked the pace before dropping out tamely. It would be unwise to dismiss her. The other two Penny Powers (7) and Raspberry Martini (9) attended quick fractions before fading. Like Competitive Bond (2), she may come to life getting massive class relief.

Dancininthecountry (6) was placed in a claimer and an allowance event last November. She has been working well since moving to Will Rogers last month. Add her to the list of possibilities here. Reality Check (8) has had plenty of chances to win career race number two. She did make a promising comeback when a close up third to a big class dropper.

21:57 Will Rogers Downs (Race 7) - Winner Kirbys Dewdrop

22:20 Turf Paradise (Race 4) - Jon Don Looney @ SP

Little separated Ultimate (7) and Welton (6) when they were placed in a similar race to this one on 12 March. The first named is a consistent type but he has lost at shortish prices in all four starts since coming here from California.

His old rival Welton (6) came back to form running first time for his trainer. He had a little trouble at the start. There may be a bit of value in his corner. Buck Owens (1) and Exxel (2) finished well behind the pair last time. They were coming off a breaks and may improve second time back.

Prior to running second last time, Ultimate (7) filled the same position behind Joe Don Looney (5) at this level in February. That seven-year-old was making it back to back victories.

Both successes came in wire to wire fashion. The comebacking Macchiato d'Oro (4) is likely to show speed on his return. He has a stalking gear in him so the hat-trick may be on no matter how he is ridden. As he won a similar race to this one last time, he has to run in to be claimed here. It is how sharp trainers like his play the game.

Itsallgoodman (3) had been away almost five months when a fading fourth on his return.

22:20 Turf Paradise (Race 4) - Winner Joe Don Looney
