19:09 Will Rogers Downs (Race 3) - Smart Okie @ SP
You can make a case for all of these. Mamashavnahotflash (2) comes off a good third in a similar race to this one in Texas. She is a three-time winner locally.
However, slight preference is for Smart Okie (3). She had Neutralize (1) behind her when fourth in a deep allowance event for the track a fortnight or so ago. That was her first start in three months. Her trainer has a made a good start to this meet.
Okie Trouble (4) a stablemate of the selection is dangerous if she make the lead on her own. Sexy Brown (6) will also be a forward factor. She drops in class for her comeback.
Unbridled Lunar (5) has no fitness worries. Her form looks dull but she has been tackling better races at Oaklawn. She ran well in her one previous start in Oklahoma.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
19:31 Mahoning Valley (Race 8) - Starcourt @ SP
Starcourt (7) has found her niche since moving from Kentucky to Ohio. A maiden win here in January was followed by a runner up try in a similar race to this one. She was beaten four lengths but the winner is an improver who was successful in a deeper race next time out.
Of the trio that finished behind the selection last time, Sessa Sisu (2) has the best chance of reversing the form.
She may have the luxury of the lead on her own this time. Stella E Veloce (3) did run to the pick of her Tampa form on her local debut. Frothy (1) and Ain't No Other (5) are new faces to Mahoning Valley. The pair have form claims but are unproven on dirt.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
19:53 Philadelphia Park (Race 8) - Harp's Hot Corner @ SP
The feature at Philadelphia Parx sees some talented state breds locking horns. Young Squire (5) ran a career best when beating Party At Sam's (1) by almost four lengths at the start of the month.
He may be hard to beat if he can repeat that. His old rival Party At Sam's (1) has a chance of reversing the form. The speedster should be suited by the cut back to six furlongs and may be fitter second time back after a lay off.
Harp's Hot Corner (3) has won five straight starts since joining trainer Jamie Ness. His form looks on a par with the best in here. He has an adaptable running style and won’t be inconvenienced by a wet track. He gets the vote to keep his winning streak going.
At a big price, Eagles Cry (4) is worth considering. He had been away seven months when running down the field behind Party At Sam's (1) on his comeback.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
