19:40 Sunland Park (Race 4) - King Bryce @ SP
Discovery N Sight (6) ran his best race for some time when beating a field of two-time career winners last month. There seemed no fluke in that effort but he may not get as much speed to chase down. With that in mind, runners that should be more forwardly ridden may suit the likely race flow.
King Bryce (7) and Rig Rider (5) ran third and fourth in a claimer here on February 20. Both had excuses. King Bryce (7) had a tough draw then and in his latest start. He is better judged when beating Discovery N Sight (6) in January. Rig Rider (5) ran well when behind him when they met as he had trouble after the break.
Mickeys Gold (2) found five furlongs a bit sharp for him last time. He still shaped well and may run better stepping up a furlong in distance. I Win Lika Girl (8) is a mare taking on the boys here. She may be a length or two shy of the best of these on paper. Having speed in a paceless affair are grounds for thinking she could post the upset.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
21:49 Sunland Park (Race 9) - First Time Player @ SP
This looks wide open. Jockey Irwin Rosendo may have had options here and stays aboard Chama Storm (7). She beat a field of one time career winners over course and distance last month. He seems may prefer her to Work N Flirt (6) who he won on a week ago.
She improved massively second time back after a long absence to win over six-and-a-half furlongs. The five-year-old has form over today’s distance and may get a nice trip just of the pace.
Sussums Girl (5) had Sheza Hailstorm (4) just behind her in a state bred claimer over this distance earlier this month. Slight preference of that pair is for the last named who draws better this time. Add them to the list of possibilities along with First Time Player (8). She faded badly in a swiftly run race over six furlongs last time.
Prior to that, she beat Gabriella Who (9) by three and a half lengths over course and distance. It's a Girl (3) finished well behind her in that six-furlong event. She was coming off a lay off and is dangerous second time back.
Burningdaylight (10) is speedy and will be suited to the cut back to five furlongs.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
22:15 Sunland Park (Race 10) - Lewis Bere @ SP
Trainer Dick Cappellucci is triple handed here. His speedy Bettor Trip Nick (3) made all against overmatched rivals a week ago. He’s now two-for-two since a barn change. If he is scratched, it increases the chances of Clue (5). He wired a field of New Mexico breds last month.
Lewis Bere (7) may come out best of The Cappellucci trio. He stalked the pace and drew off to slam a field of two time career winners last month. That win and some of his other form suggests he’s well up to beating this field. He draws outside the speed so should get a no excuse trip.
Glendora Minecat (1) has been freshened up after a victory for today’s claiming price in January. His trainer remains in fine form.
Forgive the run of Effort N Results (8) last time and he can win this. Iowa Hawkeye (9) may come to life with a trainer change.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
