There are just three meetings scheduled across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, jumps action from Ayr and Bangor-on-Dee and a AW Flat fixture, which will finish under the lights, at Dundalk.

First off is Bangor at 12:30, followed by Ayr 13:15 and Dundalk at 14:.40. Our fancies for the day include one Irish raider from the Cian Collins stable in the concluding bumper at Ayr.

15:50 Ayr - Prophetess Miriam @ 6/5

The Cian Collins-trained PROPHETESS MIRIAM has shown a good level of ability in an Irish point and a pair of Irish bumpers and looks to have been found an excellent opportunity in which to open her account.

The five-year-old, who may well have won on her only point outing at Tattersalls in May but for coming down at the last, has done well since joining the professional ranks, finishing second of 16 on her introduction at Listowel in September and bettering that when filling the same position at Punchestown last month.

She’s run to Racing Post Ratings of 97 and 99 on those starts and that sets a fair standard. In receipt of a handy mares’ allowance, she has a further 7lb taken off her back by 7lb conditional rider, Eoin Staples.

She has a big experience edge over her rivals and will have no excuses.

16:00 Bangor-on-Dee - Kepler’s Law @ 20/1

KEPLER’S LAW looks primed to make a winning debut for Christian Williams, the six-year-old on a good official mark of 127 judged on a last season’s runaway Leicester win for Laura Morgan.

The selection enjoyed a good first season over hurdles, finishing behind some notable names including Mister Meggit at Aintree and Skyjack Hijack at Newcastle, prior to slamming his rivals by 30 lengths on heavy ground at Leicester in January, making the previously progressive Barlovento look decidedly ordinary.

He wasn’t at his best when finishing in the midfield in the Grade 3 EBF Final at Sandown in April, but that was a tough race and he ultimately pulled too hard.

He’s since left Laura Morgan and looks a good acquisition for Williams, who has had a rather quiet time of it of late.

16:10 Dundalk - Ocean Manifest @ 8/13

Four-year-old OCEAN MANIFEST only has to concede 2lb to his younger rivals and it’ll be disappointing if he shouldn’t make the most of a good opportunity under Colin Keane.

The selection hasn’t quite gone on from a really encouraging debut second at Fairhouse last season, but he’s not been far off that level since having blinkers applied for Stephen Thorne this year.

Running to a Racing Post Rating of 74 he was touched off over a mile at Killarney in the summer and was rated 73 when again finding one too good over 7f at this track last month.

A return to a mile looks in his favour and there are very few that can be seriously considered against him in what looks an ordinary race, the exception being Joseph O’Bren’s once-raced Seola.
