Horse Racing Tips: Wyenot looks value at Warwick

Thursday's racing in the UK includes action from Warwick (first race 12:25), Taunton (first race 12:35) and Newcastle (first race 12:15), which all stage seven-race cards.
There is also an All-weather meeting at Chelmsford (First race 5.00), while in Ireland there is a rescheduled card from Punchestown (first race 11.50) which was originally due to take place on Tuesday.

12:20 Punchestown - Port Joulain @ 5/1
The Willie Mullins-trained Port Joulain makes his debut over fences at Punchestown. A two-time point-to-point winner, he didn’t have the smoothest hurdling career, returning just one win from four starts, but he looked impressive in that success and shaped like a horse who would appreciate further and a fence.
This new discipline could well bring out the best in him.
He is a half-brother to Horicahio’s Apple, who has two wins over fences, including one over three miles, so there is clear evidence in the pedigree that this step up will suit.
He can be a little hot-and-cold, but the Mullins yard is really beginning to hit form, and he may be a touch overlooked in the market for his chasing debut.

13:20 Punchestown - Echoing Silence @ 2/1
Seven go to post in this Mares’ Listed Novice Hurdle, a race that was won last year by Hey Sunshine, trained by Willie Mullins.
The Mullins yard is not represented this year, so the prize will be going elsewhere.
It could be Henry de Bromhead who is celebrating with Echoing Silence, who made a perfect start over hurdles when winning impressively at Cork by six lengths.
She was a well-fancied favourite on the day, having already won a bumper earlier in the year, and she justified market confidence when smoothly getting around Cork.
This is a tougher assignment, but there is a lot to like about this daughter of Doyen, who is bound to keep improving through her novice career.
She should be more than capable of continuing her winning ways.

13:55 Warwick - Wyenot @ 11/4
Only three go to post in this Mares’ Novice Chase, and a glance at the betting suggests that Diva Luna should be winning.
However, despite her 19-length success at Bangor on her chase debut, she could be worth taking on with the Henry Daly-trained Wyenot.
Wyenot actually achieved a higher mark over hurdles, having picked up five wins over the smaller obstacles, but her rating did not rise after her chase debut, where she had to dig deep to beat Kaminsas.
She did put in a few sketchy jumps along the way, but showed a gritty attitude when it mattered, and that will serve her well.
Wyenot's jumping should improve with experience, and now that she has that initial run over fences under her belt, she ought to be sharper this time.
