Horse Racing Tips: Paul Nicholls to extend his fine record on Haldon Gold Cup Day

Jumps racing holds sway across the UK and Ireland on Friday, with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
First off are Hexham, Exeter and Fontwell, before all-weather action kicks off at Newcastle and continues at Dundalk after the sun has set. Amongst our horse racing tips for Friday is one for trainer Paul Nicholls who looks to make it three wins in a row in the Future Stars Silver Bowl.

13:50 Exeter - Quebecois @ 10/11
Haldon Gold Cup Day kicks off the West Country weekend this Friday and looks to host many competitive races. Despite the Future Stars Silver Bowl producing a small field the competitive nature remains, with a case to be made for each runner.
This race was unfortunate to have been dealt a walkover last year, but has seen some quality winners in the past, including Stay Away Fay and Thyme Hill.
Trainer Paul Nicholls holds a good record in this having won five of the last seven renewals and he can keep that trend going with QUEBECOIS this afternoon.
Nicholls' charge had a decent novice hurdle campaign, but couldn't quite reach the top of the staying novice division. Following wind surgery, connections are hopeful that the gelding will achieve greater success.
With a promising pedigree, he appears to be a good chaser in the making and should demonstrate that potential this afternoon.

14:25 Exeter - JPR One @ 3/1
The Tizzards often target this race and will be hoping they can keep up their good form in the contest as last year’s winner JPR ONE is fancied to retain his title in the feature race of the day.
He’s 4lb higher than last year's success which seems fair given the fact he secured victory over this year’s Charlie Hall winner Djelo despite giving Venetia Williams’ charge 2lb that day.
Nicholls’ Kalif du Berlais and Jane William’s Saint Segal look to be the main challengers. However, JPR One’s experience should be decisive as he looks the one to beat in the feature race.

15:35 Exeter - Theonewedreamof @ 4/1
THEONEWEDREAMOF was unfortunate to bump into a strong rival on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow when finishing second last time out.
However, she finished an impressive 10 lengths clear of the horse in third that day and should come along nicely from that run.
It will be interesting to see if she handles the step up in trip, but she stuck to her task well at Chepstow which suggests that she should be more than capable of doing so.
The six-year-old arrives at the West Country course off an unchanged mark and the mare should have a good chance of going one better and secure her first win since making the switch from Gavin Cromwell to Dan Skelton.
