Wednesday Racing Tips: Force will take some stopping

There are four meetings scheduled in Britain on Wednesday, an even mix of Flat and Jumps, three of which take place in the afternoon followed by an evening AW fixture under the lights.
First off is Lingfield at 13:12, followed by Wincanton (13:50), Bangor (14:00) and Kempton (17:05). Among our fancies is one for trainer Charlie Appleby, who looked a potential star in the making when winning at Kempton on his introduction.

14:30 Bangor - Harry Lowes @ 5/6
It has been a testing few days for the Harry Skelton yard, but they remain in good form overall and can get on the scoresheet with Harry Lowes at Bangor.
The JP McManus-owned gelding has threatened more than he has delivered so far, but he ran out an easy winner over hurdles at Exeter on his rules debut and has had excuses for his two subsequent defeats, the latest when badly losing out in some scrimmaging at Windsor during the Winter Millions Festival.
This is no penalty kick for the Walk In The Park gelding, but he has upwards of 3lb in hand off the two other previous winners on official figures, and a clear round should see him gain a confidence-boosting success.

19:10 Kempton - Hidden Force @ 1/2
Charlie Appleby has dominated this conditions race at Kempton in recent seasons, winning four of the last five editions with some significant names, including subsequent 2,000 Guineas and Breeders’ Cup winner Notable Speech.
He is solely represented in the 2026 running by Hidden Force, who created a favourable impression when winning readily on his debut at this course over 7f at the beginning of December.
More will be required if he is to win this, but he’s open to untold potential and looks every bit as good at this stage as last year’s winner, Opera Ballo, who recently won a Group 1 in Meydan.

20:10 Kempton - Combustion @ 2/1
The Chelsea Banham-trained Combustion has gone from strength-to-strength over the last year or so and his progress showed no signs of slowing down when justifying odds-on favouritism at Lingfield earlier this month.
The son of Harry Angel opened his account in classified company at Wolverhampton in late January last year following a lengthy absence and proceeded to win his next three starts, the last of those in a handicap off 55.
He was beaten on his next two runs, but has taken his form to a new level this winter, and comes to Kempton eyeing a hat-trick following back-to-back successes at Lingfield.
He’s up another 7lb to a career-high 73, but he ran to a Racing Post Rating of 75 last time, so very likely remains fairly treated.
