Threeunderthrufive Grand National Odds 2025: Trainer is bullish on his chances

Speaking to Betfred a couple of weeks ago at his yard in Ditcheat, Paul Nicholls was a bit bullish about the chances of Threeunderthrufive.
“He could run really well; he’s started jumping really well now. Harry Skelton will ride him, and I’d say he’s in the best form he’s ever been.”
That is certainly not the talk of a trainer who doesn’t think he has at least a chance of going well. A lot of that confidence comes from a strong showing at Ascot in February when he was beaten out by a nose in a strong three-up finish despite going off at 11/1. That showed watchers that he still had something in him.
Being so close and running so well in that race at Ascot certainly helped his trainer make a decision on where to head next. Either the Scottish Grand National at Ayr or the Aintree edition were both being talked about but now it is the outskirts of Liverpool which will be his destination.
A year ago his owner Max McNeill was keen to go for the race, but Nicholls thought it was maybe a year too soon and the soft ground wouldn’t be ideal. With the lack of rain falling from the skies in the north west in recent days and weeks, that shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Threeunderthrufive has placed in both of his races this season with a third-place finish at Ascot just before Christmas accompanying that runners-up position last time out. Definitely more than a punchers chance of placing and could run a very good race.
Stamina doesn’t seem to be a significant question mark and that is always something to look for when it comes to picking a horse for the Grand National.
