Southwell Tips: Vibe can call the tune

Southwell stages a bumper nine-race card on Thursday evening and the action is highlighted by a staying handicap at 19:00.
Ribble Vibe ran a cracker when finishing second at York last time out and Henry Hardwicke believes David O’Meara’s gelding can call the tune returned to the all-weather.

17:30 - Mighty Real each-way @ 20/1
Betfred offer four places on each-way bets in the two divisions of the mile handicap and Mighty Real rates a solid play in the 17:30.
Hughie Morrison’s charge kept on well to finish a close fourth at Chelmsford last time out and the three-year-old left the impression that there would be more to come.
Mighty Real was staying on at Chelmsford and a move up to a mile from seven furlongs rates a sensible call.
The son of Oasis Dream is certainly no world beater, but the gelding is still relatively lightly raced and Morrison’s hope looks capable of going close off a mark of 46.

19:00 - Ribble Vibe @ 6/1
Ribble Vibe finished a good second behind the progressive Berkshire Sundance, who reopposes this evening, at York last time out and David O’Meara’s hope has a four pound pull in the weights for that defeat.
Berkshire Sundance benefited from an advantageous track position on the Knavesmire 40 days ago and Robble Vibe was forced to switch around rivals in a bid to make ground on the leaders.
The four-year-old looked as though he may run down Berkshire Sundance in the closing stages, and while O’Meara’s charge had to settle for second place at York, it may be a different story on the all-weather at Southwell.
Ribble Vibe won on the Polytrack on his debut and there are credible efforts at Newcastle on the four-year-old’s card.
Therefore, the Tapeta surface, and two mile trip at Southwell, should suit.

20:30 - Jindri @ 7/1
The third play on the card comes in the final race of the day at 20:30.
Jindri has just her sixth career start and the three-year-old has left an impression that she is building to a victory.
Jane Chapple-Hyam’s filly stayed on well at this course when running over a furlong shorter last time out, and that left the impression that there is room for manoeuvre off today’s mark of 72.
Jindri had previously run well at Chepstow, and both the effort in Wales and start at Southwell last time out, suggests that stepping up another furlong would suit.
Jockey Hector Crouch has a 24 per cent strike rate at the Nottinghamshire venue and everything is in place for a big run.
