Saturday Racing Tips: 13/8 Nap heads Owen’s five fancies

It really is a super Saturday on the racing front, with eight meetings involving some huge races - namely the Betfred Temple Stakes at Haydock and the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh - scheduled across the UK & Ireland.
I've spent the last hour or so studying the various cards, landing on six Saturday racing tips - including a 13/8 Nap.
Saturday Racing Tips - May 24, 2025
- 13:55 Curragh - Trustyourinstinct @ 13/8
- 14:05 Goodwood - Amiloc @ 7/4
- 15:00 Haydock - Ain't Nobody @ 9/1
- 15:40 Curragh - Rashabar each-way @ 12/1

13:55 Curragh - Trustyourinstinct @ 13/8
We start with my Nap of the Day - TRUSTYOURINSTINCT in the Listed Orby Stakes at the Curragh.
Joseph O'Brien's five-year-old son of Churchill, in those famous green and gold silks of JP McManus, was running to a very high level last season, suffering narrow defeats to 2023 and 2024 Betfred St Leger heroes Continuous and Jan Brueghel here in County Kildare.
He was victorious on his only attempt over Saturday's distance (1m4f) at Leopardstown, in Group 3 company, immediately afterwards, but he's without a win in three starts so far this term.
However, his recent third behind Los Angeles (rated 121) and White Birch (122) in a red-hot Group 2 earlier this month is very good form and this drop in class and step up in trip can see him return to winning ways.

14:05 Goodwood - Amiloc @ 7/4
Ten minutes later is the Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood, which can go to Ralph Beckett's AMILOC.
The Postponed gelding is unbeaten in three starts, winning a maiden, novice and Class 2 conditions stakes, and he looks more than ready to take this step up to Listed company in his stride.
His victory over a mile at Kempton in September last year reads very well. He gave seven pounds and a beating to Charlie Johnston's Green Storm, now rated 107 after placing in a Group 1 over in France.
The selection comfortably saw off 95 and 98-rated rivals here in West Sussex last time out, shaping like he might have even more to offer over this 1m2f trip.
Main market rivals Opportunity and Tycoon have a lot of potential, but he sets the standard in this field of eight and has plenty of improvement left in him too.

15:00 Haydock - Ain't Nobody @ 9/1
I make Big Mojo the one to beat in the Betfred Sandy Lane Stakes - a Group 2 over six furlongs - and at the prices, it's well worth backing AIN'T NOBODY to turn him over.
The three-year-old Sands Of Mali colt, who won the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot last year, was just over a length behind the former in the G3 Commonwealth Cup Trial at Ascot last month, despite a bad break forcing him to race in rear throughout.
He remains open to significant improvement on just his sixth career start and third over the trip, which might just be enough to overturn that form with Big Mojo.
If he manages that, I'll be surprised if he doesn't find himself in the winners' enclosure.

15:40 Curragh - Rashabar each-way @ 12/1
The big race on Saturday is the Irish 2000 Guineas - the first Classic of the Flat season in Ireland.
Field Of Gold, a staying-on second in the Betfred 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month, heads the betting, but as far as I'm concerned he's short enough taking on a host of new rivals.
One that appeals each-way against the favourite is RASHABAR for Brian Meehan.
A shock winner (80/1) of the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last season, the son of Holy Roman Emperor went on to finish runner-up to Whistlejacket in a Group 1 at Deauville on his next start before just getting touched off by Camille Pissarro, an eye-catching third in the French 2000 Guineas the other week, at the same level Longchamp on Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe day.
His run in France was his first over seven furlongs and he appeared to relish it. In fact, he gave the impression he'd like even further, which he gets for the first time on Saturday.
The selection's second on reappearance in the Greenham Stakes (Group 3) at Newbury exactly 42 days ago rates another strong piece of form after the winner was just denied in the French 2000 Guineas, and according to connections he "definitely needed the run" and is "in tremendous form" this week.
At 12/1, he's well worth a few quid.

18:50 Salisbury - Jarraaf @ 2/1
Finally, I'm siding with JARRAAF in the Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury.
Jasour is a respected rival, but the four-year-old finished well down the field on his final two starts of last year and this is his first outing since a wind op. He's incredibly dangerous if bouncing back to his best, but that's hard to trust at present.
On the other hand, the selection - trained by the excellent Owen Burrows - progressed with every run last season, going from a handicap defeat off a mark of 88 in June to a two-and-three-quarter-length victory off seven pounds higher in the Shergar Cup Sprint at Ascot in August. The four-year-old son of Zoustar was runner-up to veteran sprinter Apollo One in a Group 3 back at the Berkshire venue in October.
He returns on Saturday after 231 days on the sidelines and if fit, which Burrows' string often are first time out, he ought to go very close under the brilliant Billy Loughnane.
