Six races on the flat at Salisbury on Friday, Sept 15th – action takes place late-afternoon, between 4.20pm and 7.10pm.

James Doyle, in warm order at present, looks to have potentially a very good book of rides. A jockey quite rightly in demand.

Salisbury tips, Friday

16.20 Show Biz Kid @ 7/4

This looks to be a potentially warm Novice Stakes contest and some very promising 2-yr-olds go to post.

About half the field have some experience, the others none. One who has stretched his legs, just the once, a son of Acclamation trained by Richard Hannon – Show Biz Kid.

That was at Goodwood in a £16k maiden, when he finished his race off nicely after meeting trouble. Only about 5l adrift at the line, more can be expected with that run under his belt.

Richard Hannon is a master with juveniles, and has plundered many a massive sales race prize in this sphere. Pat Dobbs is doing the steering, he’s nicely boxed in stall one, and hopes are appropriately high for a cracking run.

17.30 Warminster @ 6/4

One gentleman in sensational form right now – jockey James Doyle – and a thoroughly able trainer, especially at this kind of 6f trip, Robert Cowell. They team up here with Warminster, a 3yr-old gelding by Ardad.

This one broke his maiden at Kempton in January, but had become a little disappointing so was gelded in May. After a nice break and a change of trainer he returned to action at Yarmouth nearly 3 weeks ago and was narrowly pipped in a competitive Class 5. He drops to the basement Class 6 here and The Doyler has been booked – where do I sign?

Ran prominently at Yarmouth, and is housed nicely here in the 3 box to do similar up that far rail perhaps. Could be tricky to peg back, fingers crossed ..
