Road to Cheltenham 2024: How to solve a problem like the Gold Cup?

There was no shortage of Cheltenham Festival clues on offer last weekend - particularly in regards to the Gold Cup.

Naturally then, much of the focus during Episode 2 of The Road to Cheltenham was about the recent performances (or not, in the case of the latter) of Galopin Des Champs, Fastorslow, Bravemansgame and Shishkin.

The division looks wide-open, which is reflected by the respective picks of co-hosts Frankie Foster and Joel Ross when asked by Matt Hulmes for a tentative early selection for the Blue Riband event in March.

The lads also discussed the Champion Hurdle and Champion Chase pictures after State Man's facile success in the Morgiana Hurdle over in Ireland and Boothill's triumph at Ascot.

Another topic of discussion was a trio of novice chasers who've appeared lately, with one singled out for putting up the "novice performance of the season" so far.
