Road To Cheltenham

The 2024 Cheltenham Festival is just two weeks away, and it's fair to say the excitement levels are rising.

Spirits were certainly high during Episode 13 - the penultimate episode - of this season's Road To Cheltenham featuring Matt Hulmes, Frankie Foster and Joel Ross.

The lads began by discussing the return of the ever-popular Ferny Hollow, who won the Grade 3 Newlands Chase at Naas last weekend in good style.

A Champion Chase contender? Perhaps not, as trainer Willie Mullins seems to be favouring a tilt at Aintree's Grand National meeting - or the Punchestown Festival.

The youngsters were put under the spotlight after Kalif Du Berlais (who definitely won't be appearing at Prestbury Park in a couple of weeks) edged out Givemefive in the Grade 2 Adonis Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday.

A fascinating Irish contender in Bottler'secret, who put his name into the hat for the Triumph Hurdle with an impressive 11-length victory in a Grade 3 at Naas the same day, is also assessed.

The handicaps are dissected by the panel, with a lot of focus on Langer Dan, the current Coral Cup favourite. A plot job, or is he on the decline? Fascinating.

Horses put forward by you guys, the punters, are reviewed in quickfire style. Noble Yeats, Ile Atlantique, Sir Gino - that's just a few of them.

Finally, as always, Matt, Frankie and Joel put forward their penultimate antepost picks for the Festival.

For Mr. Foster, it's a 9/1 shot in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle - while Matt and Joel each put up a 10/1 shot in the Albert Bartlett and Pertemps respectively.

Tune into the full episode below - and be sure to come back next week for the final episode before the Festival.
