National Hunt action comes from picturesque Perth on Thursday afternoon. Racing takes place between 14.02 – 16.45, with six contests to enjoy.
Gordon Elliott sends a strong raiding party over from Ireland, teaming up with in-form jockey Sean Bowen.
15.47 – Pammi @ 5/1
The selection is jockey Harry Reed’s sole booked mount of the day, and won last time out at this venue. The mare loves it here, and today’s jockey was on board for that last success.
She must defy a 3lb higher mark on Thursday but the mare is in form, has been rated much higher in the past, and encouragingly reappears only 17 days after that last win.
She seems oblivious as far as ground conditions go, and it’s likely to be testing I’d have thought. A sporting selection, looking for a bit of value.
16.55 – Tommy’s Law @ 7/4
The great Lucinda Russell trains my selection in the Perth and Kinross area, and this one has run well in a couple of points. Useful claimer Patrick Wadge takes off 5lb for this National Hunt flat race, and the son of smart stayer Kingston Hill is taken to prove better value than the likely hot fav Al Kalila.
The latter-named is a Munir/Souede double green inmate, trained by Stuart Crawford in Ireland. Jockey Daryl Jacob rides this and another hotpot on the day – let’s hope this one eludes him at least!
I’ve made reference to the likely going – on the testing side – and I’m hoping Lucinda will have Tommy’s Law nicely tuned for what I hope will be a very competitive run.
