There is a seven-race card from Nottingham on Tuesday afternoon, with the Nottinghamshire Oaks the highlight of the action.

Francophone goes to post for trainer Charlie Johnston in the Listed contest at 16:28 and the four-year-old may well leave Colwick Park victorious.

14:43 - City Of Strangers @ 9/4

CITY OF STRANGERS bolted up to beat a 15-runner field by five lengths over six furlongs at Redcar last week and a six-pound penalty looks unlikely to stop Ivan Furtado's charge from following up in the sprint handicap at 14:43.

There is the charge that track position and racing close to the near rail was a help to the three-year-old at Redcar, but there were other horses who took the same route in that contest and finished down the field.

It's more likely that City Of Strangers is miles ahead of her mark and Tuesday's good-to-firm ground seems to suit.

Furtado's charge is likely to start as favourite for this contest, but the three-year-old may still have been underestimated by the market and she looks a standout play.

16:28 - Francophone @ 2/1

The feature race takes place at 16:28 and FRANCOPHONE can take down the Nottinghamshire Oaks prize.

Charlie Johnston’s charge is having her first run of the season, but that is no boundary to the Middleham maestro.

The four-year-old has scored on debut, as well as off a 227-day break as a three-year-old, which offers plenty of confidence that Francophone can offer her best this afternoon.

Johnston’s runner was considered good enough to contest the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last season and she also impressed when winning the listed Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood last May.

Further progress isn’t ruled out and Francophone can dial in to success in the feature race.

17:38 - Beach Point @ 5/2

BEACH POINT has finished second on his last three starts and William Knight's charge looks ready to get his head in front in the final race on the card at 17:38.

The four-year-old looked all over the winner when hitting the front at Yarmouth 24 days ago, only to be caught late and denied by a neck.

Prior to that excellent effort, Beach Point had finished runner-up at Wolverhampton and Kempton and, while he has been nudged up a couple of pounds for those consistent efforts, a mark of 68 still looks workable.

The Yarmouth effort came off a considerable break from action, suggesting there could be more to come from Knight's charge and this looks a winnable handicap.
