If you’d backed Noble Yeats each-way last year, then you would have been in the money as the Emmet Mullins-trained horse came home fourth to place in the 2023 Aintree Grand National. Had you backed him in 2022 when he went on to win the race at 50/1, well then, you'd have certainly enjoyed that one.

The team at Betfred Insights have put together a betting profile for him and you can check out what Noble Yeats’ Grand National Odds are and what his chances are of going on to win the race this year. We all want to know what the chances are of a repeat of that stonking victory from two years ago...

Noble Yeats Grand National 2024 Betting Profile

  • Horse Name: Noble Yeats
  • Horse Age: 9
  • Trainer: Emmet Mullins
  • Jockey: Harry Cobden
  • Weight: 11-11
  • Betfred Odds (as of Midday, Thursday, April 11, 2024): 20/1
  • Previous Grand National Results: 4th (2023), Winner (2022)

With a weight of 11-11, Noble Yeats will start the Grand National as the second-heaviest horse after Conflated. This nine-year-old has a pretty darn good record here as he won the race in 2022 to go along with that fourth-place finish last time around, meaning that if you are one of those punters who really does rate course form, then this may very well be the horse for you. We’ve also seen him winning on the Mildmay course at Aintree, so it is two wins and a fourth in three trips to Liverpool.

The one big question mark against him this year has been his staying power as in two of his three races so far this season, including at the Cheltenham Festival where he finished a disappointing seventh in the Stayers' Hurdle, it has been that lack of kick down the stretch that has eluded him despite being among the contenders two out.

The Grand National is of course very much a question of stamina and just getting round is an achievement in itself. In the only race though where his lack of kick didn’t trouble him back in January, we saw Noble Yeats win the Grade 2 Cleeve down at Cheltenham, and on that occasion he certainly did rally well to finish and win the race by a head.

Harry Cobden will ride Noble Yeats' third time in the race. The jockey will be the third person to take him on the Grand National adventure. Sam Waley-Cohen was in the saddle when he shocked everyone by winning in 2023 and it was Sean Bowen who took the reins last time out. Cobden is yet to win the race and this will be his sixth try, with a 14th-place finish in 2017 being his best result to date.
