Nicky Henderson is a cherished fixture in British racing, and he's pretty exceptional when it comes to enjoying success at the home of National Hunt racing, Cheltenham.

He's got a few bright chances of adding to his current Festival haul of 75 winners over the coming days, and the man who gave us the likes of See You Then, Altior and Sprinter Sacre is always to be massively reckoned with. Here's some thoughts on two of his stars for this week.

Still at the height of his powers, and 75 years young - Nicholas John Henderson ...

The six-year-old gelding is three-from-six all told, and actually began his racing life with Paul Nicholls in Somerset. Since joining Nicky in October he's unbeaten in three mightily impressive spins.

He's skinny enough but some good judges are talking banker material. Nicky; "As to whether he makes the running, suspect not, but we'll see. He'll be a mighty horse next year!"

Tune in below and hear exactly what the trainer had to say about this extremely talented individual.

Last year's Arkle winner needed every yard of the 2m trip to get there, thrillingly, in the shadow of the post. He was beaten at Aintree stepping up to 2m 4f, but has been excellent since reappearing for this new campaign.

The seven-year-old gelding won a G2 in a canter at Ascot (2m 5f), before a half-length defeat to The Jukebox Man in the King George - an absolute race for the ages and that half-length embraced the first four home.

Nicky spoke of his Gold Cup hope; "he's got pace - not a Ferrari, but quick enough!" He'll also need the kind of stamina shown the last time he ventured up that unforgiving hill, but this time at the end of 3m 2.5f.

It's been a while since Bobs Worth (2013) and the great Barry Geraghty took the big one for Seven Barrows, and Jango Baie has a decent shout in what looks as wide-open a renewal as I can recall.
