There are once again five race meetings across the UK and Ireland for us to look forward to across Wednesday, so there are several options to consider when picking out my Nap of the Day. Following success on Monday, I'm hoping I can provide another winner.

It's Day one of the York Ebor Festival I turn to on this occasion, as well as a horse I have put my faith in the past. Check out my Nap of the Day for Wednesday, August 20 below.

Nap Of The Day - Wednesday, August 20

LUNA A INBHIR NIS is the runner in question for Katie Scott's yard, and I am a big fan of the three-year-old filly, having backed her for success on her previous two starts at Haydock (5f) and most recently York (5 1/2f) on July 25.

She prevailed on both occasions and has now won on five of her past six starts. It's six victories overall this season now for the daughter of Rajasinghe, with five of them coming over 5f, the trip she will cover in this Class 2 fillies' handicap at York on Tuesday.

I think the course victory on her latest appearance will serve her well as she bids to land a win over this distance in YO23. Having prevailed last time out over an extra half-furlong, she should be more than capable of being in contention over this trip, which she has had plenty of success with in her career so far.

Fast Racing Results

Scott must be delighted with the continuous progress Luna A Inbhir Nis continues to display, so it's probable that this filly still has much more to offer. Her last appearance here saw her have a disputed lead from the front before pulling away two furlongs out and just managing to hold on by a neck at the end.

There have been a couple of comfortable victories from her to date, and perhaps Scott is hoping the next step is for her rising star to start posting more clear margins of victory.

Given what we have been seeing from Luna A Inbhir Nis in recent months, it's not beyond the realms of possibility. The filly continues to climb the weights but time and again she shows how little impact it has on her, so I think we can expect another strong performance from her at a track she is becoming very familiar with.

There is some fierce competition to contend with on Wednesday, as there are a few other notable candidates with claims who also arrive here in good form, but I think Luna A Inbhir Nis' consistency over the course of the season sets her apart from the rest of the field, and her habit of continuous progress may just give her the edge once again.

Jason Hart is booked for this ride, and the pair have combined for victory at Haydock and Ayr in the past, so I do believe this also strengthens her claim.
