Nap of the day with owen mcmahon 3

The classiest race on Wednesday comes from Killarney - and I've got a strong fancy in it.

It's been almost a year since RED LETTER's last visit to the winners' enclosure, and I believe a return is on the cards.

Ger Lyons' three-year-old daughter of Frankel is tipped to claim Listed honours at Killarney on Wednesday after a couple of fine efforts in highly-competitive races already this season.

Juddmonte's 107-rated filly was closely-matched with Aidan O'Brien's four-time Group 1 winner Lake Victoria (118) as a juvenile, earning her a shot at the Betfred 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in May.

She finished seventh of 10 at HQ, fading late in the piece after shaping well for large parts of the Classic contest. Entirely understandable, being it was her first run in over 200 days.

Connections lowered their sights for her next assignment, in the Listed Kooyonga Stakes at Navan last month, and it very almost paid off, but she was just held by subsequent Group 3 heroine Barnavara.

While Wednesday's race isn't a literal drop in class, I think it is in actuality. Red Letter is seven pounds superior to her main market rival and over 11lbs clear of the rest of the 13-strong field.

Gavin Cromwell's Fiery Lucy has only managed to win one of her 10 starts to date and I believe her mark of 100 to be inflated. I'd be disappointed if she was up to beating the selection.

Ecstatic is respected on account of being the only runner for Aidan O'Brien and it's interesting to see her drop back to a mile, but ultimately she's hard to advise on this year's form and the absence of stable jockey Ryan Moore is another negative.

Wannabe Royal was comfortably beaten by Red Letter the last day and doesn't look to have the scope to reverse that gap - while the likes of Orchidacae, Bella Isabella, Shiota and Co have a bit to find on all known form.

This looks an outstanding opportunity for Red Letter, who rates my Nap of the Day.
