Nap of the Day: Might I suggest giving this 9/2 shot another chance?

There's just a couple of National Hunt cards on offer this Wednesday, but the bumper eight-race affair at Bangor is excellent for midweek fare.
My Nap of the Day comes from the north Wales venue and is trading at 9/2 at time of publication.
Nap of the Day - Wednesday, November 13
- 15:35 Bangor - Might I @ 9/2
Three years ago now, Harry Fry's MIGHT I was sent off 6/4f, under a penalty, against none other than Constitution Hill.
I backed him that day - obviously. The son of Fame And Glory was seriously impressive on his hurdling debut at Newton Abbott two months prior, and I felt he was a serious prospect in the making.
Of course, it was Nicky Henderson's 14-length winner who went on to achieve superstar status, and in hindsight Might I was never going to be able to concede four pounds to the seven-time Grade 1 winner.
He went on to finish third to another Seven Barrows star, Jonbon, in the Supreme Trial at Haydock a month later, before a fine second to the late Three Stripe Life in the G1 Mersey Novices' Hurdle at Aintree's Grand National Festival exactly 77 days later.
Despite just one win in four starts, it was a highly-promising campaign in novice hurdles against some of the best horses in the business, and it's fair to say hopes were high about him going forward.
However, he's been rather expensive to follow in the meantime, winning just one of his next 10 starts - a novice chase at Exeter around this time last year, when his only rival failed to complete.
There's been some easily-excusable efforts, though, among some fine runs in defeat. For example, he didn't stay three miles at Haydock in the stayers' handicap hurdle on Betfair Chase day a couple years back, and it's hard to be critical of his fourth in the Martin Pipe at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
He didn't look a natural over fences and so reverted back to hurdling this spring, chucked straight into the Coral Cup at Cheltenham in March following a 82-day break, before a Grade 3 assignment at Aintree and then another crack at three miles at Haydock in May.
He wasn't disgraced on any one of those three outings, but wasn't competitive at the same time. It was the end of a long and interrupted season, so I'm inclined to be forgiving.
Now, after a long summer break, he makes his seasonal reappearance off a much-reduced mark of 135 (dropped seven pounds for his exploits in the spring).
I think the handicapper has given him a real chance this term and hopefully he can make a bold bid in north Wales on Wednesday afternoon.
Nicky Henderson's Aston Martini, who tops the betting at time of publication, is dangerous off a lowly mark of 120 but she's inexperienced and hard to weigh up with so little form in the book, which also applies to Lemoncello for Venetia Williams.
Otherwise, this looks a very winnable race and if Might I, who's just eight years old despite, is anywhere near back to his best, he could take a bit of beating off a career-low rating.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
