Nap of the Day: Loads to like about Abundance at Lingfield

After a near-miss on Tuesday, I'm hoping to go one better and land my first Nap of the Day of the week on Wednesday.
I'm putting my faith in a thrice-raced colt appearing towards the end of the six-race card at Lingfield.

I was pleasantly surprised to see ABUNDANCE open at 3/1 for this novice event at Lingfield on Wednesday.
I expected Johnathan Portman's three-year-old son of Zoustar, who's out of Listed-winning mare Bounty Box, to be closer, if not in front of Tsuki at the head of the market.
Despite finishing over three lengths off the pace in fourth (of 11), he showed plenty of encouragement on debut at Wolverhampton in October last year while just about still a juvenile, before a 205-day break during which he was gelded.
On return at Windsor this April, he was a much-improved third, just over a length behind Richard Hughes' well-backed Sea Founder. That horse has since held his own in handicap company off an opening mark of 80, while Hercules who was runner-up in Berkshire won one off 73 last month, earning a rise of four pounds.
Just over a fortnight later, Abundance was third again in a higher-class affair at Newbury. The winner, Montpellier, was impressive on debut previously and has earned a mark of 96 from the handicapper, while the 10/11f Sea Force in second is officially eight pounds inferior.
The selection has in all likelihood run to at least near his mark of 82, which is four pounds superior to the aforementioned Tsuki.
William Haggas' Kameko filly was bitterly disappointing at Haydock last time out, following a promising debut victory at Goodwood. She was beaten at 1/4f on Merseyside by a horse I believe to be grossly overrated at 90. Time will tell if I'm right or wrong about that.
Despite her lower rating, race conditions means she concedes four pounds to Abundance on Tuesday, which makes her extremely vulnerable in my book.
Wattani is also penalised as a result of his debut last-time-out victory, which I must say looks nothing more than average. I expect him to struggle.
I'm a big fan of trainer Owen Burrows and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the well-bred Deira Storm leaves his run on seasonal reappearance well behind. He sure needs to, though - and then improve further.
Otherwise, it's a modest field. Unless one of the two newcomers - namely Alive Again and Blea Tarn - are above average, I expect the race to concern the first four in the market, with Fulford Cross given a squeak.
But it's Abundance who I believe has by far the best claims. He's my Nap of the Day.
