Nap of the Day: We’re with the Enforcer …

My colleague Owen is our regular go-to for the Nap of the Day feature, but I've contributed my own thoughts from time to time and indeed popped a couple of crackers into a very successful run we had just a few weeks ago, including a 9/2 chance.
My usual 'bag,' the ITV Live races preview on Saturdays, had a very respectable showing a couple of days ago with FOUR winners and some placed action too, so we're both in decent nick.
Without further ado then - here's Tuesday's Nap of the Day, October 31st. Catterick is subject to a precautionary inspection @ 07.30, but the track is hopeful. Fingers crossed then.
Nap of the Day
- 13:07 Catterick - Rogue Enforcer @ 9/4
A fascinating little novice stakes race over 5f, for 2-yr-olds. Not many line up to face the starter, but one of the entries certainly takes my eye.
Trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam sends his Profitable colt Rogue Enforcer north after a nice win at Beverley last time, on soft ground. That was over this minimum trip of 5f, but on his other two previous career starts he travelled over 6f. Getting that extra bit of yardage could be absolutely crucial here on the anticipated heavy ground.
My selection has a serious rival - at least one, possibly more, but a colt, Tsunami Spirit, who is officially rated 8lbs his superior. I'm not put off by this on several fronts. One is the booked jockey - Rossa Ryan. Name a hotter jock in terms of waves of winners - and as the old saying goes, it's ok - I'll wait.
Rival Tsunami Spirit has also had three career starts to date - a good-to-firm Windsor debut, and two all-weather spins at Kempton - all over 6f. Similar prospect of running powerfully through the line then.
How he'll fare over 5f here on heavy ground though is a little up in the air in my book, with pretty fast ground and all-weather form the only guide so far. My selection has already successfully faced Beverley's stiff finish on the soft, and that gives him a clear edge in my view in terms of how he's likely to handle Catterick on Tuesday. We need that to be the case given that gap in official marks, but racing's a wonderful game of moments, inches, and opinions.
We won't know until sometime after 13.07, but I don't believe Peter would be travelling north, with Rossa engaged, if hopes were not very high. It's only an ordinary contest but the horse didn't see a racecourse until August and is presumably pleasing connections at home. Another little scalp would I'm sure be most welcome.
We'd be delighted if you made a regular point of looking out for our nap of the day within Insights - thank you!
