Another week of Nap Of The Day, with recent successes and near-misses to enjoy. Nice to be bang in the conversation, as it were.

Tuesday's would-be cracker, July 23, comes from Wolverhampton, and an old favourite in the jockey corps who's not of course old enough to be one, if you get my drift, but has rapidly ascended the ranks and seems to have been around for an age - thankfully. Here we go; off-time for the nap is 19:40.

Nap Of The Day Tuesday

Wolverhampton 19.40 - My Kinda Girl @ 13/8

In our companion Lucky 15 piece we've selected four from the card - well, here's another, that I believe warrants serious individual attention.

My Kinda Girl is a four-year-old filly trained by Tony Carroll, and ridden by the quite brilliant Rossa Ryan. She is a modest sprinter, but admirably consistent. At this lowly level the ability to invariably run your race is a big advantage over rivals who are often rather in and out.

She's still a maiden but three weeks ago ran pretty much a career-best at Brighton in this grade, beaten just a head. That was off a mark of 46, the same as when a close-up fifth at this venue in April. Of the two subsequent runs before Brighton one included another narrow reverse, again at Brighton.

For me she's knocking loudly on the door and Rossa is just the man to get it to open up. She was initially awarded a mark of 54 after the obligatory three novice/maiden outings, 12 months ago.

That proved a little steep but off 47 tonight I can see Rossa doing the business, as he has so many times, on similar animals who are deserving of a little welcome success. Fingers crossed for a great run.
