Nap of the Day: Johnny Jump Up can rise to Lingfield challenge

Three meetings form Tuesday's racing schedule, with Jumps fare in the afternoon from Ayr and Lingfield before Wolverhampton slots in for the evening action on the all-weather.
Tuesday's Nap of the Day came to grief on his chasing bow, but Gary & Josh Moore have found him a suitable target now in his quest to bounce back in style.
Nap of the Day - Tuesday, February 11
- 16:02 Lingfield - Johnny Jump Up @ 4/1
Some solid fare from Lingfield over the jumps on Tuesday afternoon includes the Class 4 handicap chase over two-and-a-half-miles in which JOHNNY JUMP UP is the top weight for Gary & Josh Moore.
The son of Workforce was beaten in both point-to-point starts, but won on his Rules bow in a novice hurdle at Fontwell (2m1½f, soft) last January.
He ran well next time when second at Plumpton over further and then was held in sixth in what has proved to have been a hot novices' hurdle at Taunton in April before going away for the summer.
He was back from a 284-day layoff for his chasing introduction at Warwick (2m4f, good to soft) last month and was in the process of running a good race when he unseated Niall Houlihan before his cards were played.
That form has not been tested, but it should prove solid enough and, regardless, he is taking a drop in grade now.
This race is not as deep and some of his four rivals have been toiling lately. The exception is Jeremy Scott's runner Pilsdon Pen, but it is well over a year since he was spotted winning at Wincanton and fitness could be an issue for him today.
The Neil Mulholland-trained Thor De Cerisy has run well on his last two starts. He was second here behind Le Ligerien in December and then fifth at Windsor last month as the progressive Hasthing scored for Jonjo O'Neill and sons.
The drop in trip should suit him, but he's more exposed and is now an 11-year-old.
Johnny Jump Up is the youngster in this sextet as a six-year-old and has fewer miles on the clock.
It would have been very interesting to see what he achieved had he not unshipped his rider three weeks ago, but that experience should not be lost on him now.
His hurdles form last term suggests a mark of 122 over fences is going to be within range and, on that basis, he could be overpriced.
