Nap of the Day: Third time’s a charm for 11/8 Johnny?

It's a new week as far as my Nap of the Day commitments are concerned and we go to Uttoxeter on Tuesday looking to make a winning start.
Nap of the Day - Tuesday, December 10
- 12:42 Uttoxeter - Oh My Johnny @ 11/8
Phillip Hobbs & Johnson White's OH MY JOHNNY ought to take all the beating in this two-mile maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter on Tuesday.
The four-year-old Soldier Of Fortune gelding, who fetched £56k in the sales ring just 10 days after falling at the last while in contention in an Irish PTP in May, looked a winner in waiting following his rules debut at Ludlow three months ago.
He was fourth in Shropshire, beaten just under six lengths by Mares' Novices' Hurdle hopeful La Marquise, but I think he shaped a lot better than the bare result, jumping markedly out to his right at the final three flights in the home straight.
That form is relatively strong, with big things expected of the winner and the runner-up Kalium going on to beat a nice type at Wetherby a month later.
The selection went to Bangor for his subsequent start and looked set to break his duck in good fashion before departing at the last. An unlucky fall it was, too, tripping up on the landing side.
It would be fair to note concern about his jumping, given he's failed to complete on two of his three runs and was far from fluent at Ludlow, but I wouldn't call it more than that as I thought he was actually pretty sound on the whole in north Wales last time out.
The form of his two runs to date, even if you assume he would 'only' have finished runner-up the last day, is as far as I'm concerned better than anything produced by his 10 rivals to date.
According to the betting at time of publication, Dan Skelton's Yhprum's Law is the main danger. He was modest in his only bumper and was booked for third at best at Carlisle in October but for falling two out. A line through Gentleman's Bill, who took advantage of Oh My Johnny's fall at Bangor, would give him every chance, but for me the selection met a much-improved version of that horse and such conclusions are unwise to make.
Ki Woo is hard to weigh up on his French form but doesn't make obvious appeal, while the likes of Let Me Go Boys and Unleash The Beast have significant improvement to find.
Knead A Win is the interesting one. He didn't look straightforward at Hereford on his racecourse debut exactly 13 days ago but he did go off 10/3 and wasn't without a chance when running out late in the piece, so he rates a danger in my book.
But I really like Oh My Johnny and this looks a fantastic opportunity for him to get off the mark at the third attempt - and if that happens it will be interesting to see what handicap mark he gets afterwards, for he could be one to follow closely in that sphere.
