Nap of the Day: 10/1 ‘far too big’ about Tuesday’s best bet

After a couple of weeks off to recharge after the Cheltenham Festival, I'm back in business at Betfred HQ and hoping to start Grand National week in style with an 10/1 Nap of the Day.
Nap of the Day - Tuesday, April 1
- 14:02 Lingfield - Get Jiggy With It @ 10/1

Just six months ago, GET JIGGY WITH IT posted arguably a career-best performance in a Class 3 at Thirsk for Charles Hills. On Tuesday, she lines up for George Boughey in a Class 5 apprentice handicap on the all-weather at Lingfield.
That suggests regression is at play, but I'm not so sure. She was poor at Newmarket in September, but that was after eight starts in half a year - and her sixth at Southwell a month later wasn't all that bad.
She made her debut for new connections a fortnight ago and shaped encouragingly in defeat, finishing fifth of 10 just five-and-a-half lengths off the pace in a 0-78 handicap over an extended mile at Wolverhampton.
Not only does that trip seem to stretch the four-year-old daughter of Highland Reel, but she was likely in need of the run with it being her first outing in over 120 days.
It was also a decent contest. The winner was on a four-timer and franked the form next time out by finishing runner-up off five pounds higher next time out, while the second, third and fourth have all been running to their marks in the mid-high 70s.
The handicapper's decision to drop the selection a couple of pounds is generous as far as I'm concerned, and she ought to be able to exploit that as she drops in class with fitness on her side.
On top of that, she has seven-pound claimer Jack Callan on her back, meaning she essentially competes off a mark of 66. Unless she genuinely has regressed for whatever reason, that gives her outstanding claims in this company.
Of course, Callan's inexperience is a bit of a concern. The teenager's career is only 22 rides young, so he's got lots to learn, but he's already been in the winners' enclosure and guided seven to the top four, including Sun King in the 2023 Amateurs' Derby. It's been a promising start.
The distance - six furlongs - is the other question mark. Get Jiggy With It has never been tried in a sprint, but the aforementioned run at Thirsk - a sharp track - over just a furlong further on good ground offers optimism on that front.
She was quick out of the gates in North Yorkshire and made the running, going better than anything until the final furlong when she was just touched off by a bit of a seven-furlong specialist. That run tells me it'll be no problem whatsoever.
I think 10/1 is far too big. In my mind, she's more of a 6/1 shot in this company and under these circumstances, so it's no surprise she rates my Nap of the Day.
