There's some good racing to look forward to on Thursday, including a couple of Group 3s at Leopardstown. Action also comes from Chelmsford, where Amora Queen appeals in the opener, while Muhaajim is another to watch in the 19:15 at Sandown.

There is also racing at Sandown, Brighton, Nottingham and for a second-straight day at Sligo, but our NAP is from the Premier Raceday card at Chepstow.

Great Acclaim was a winner at the corresponding fixture at Chepstow last year and returns with his reputation enhanced.

Another victory at Windsor followed six days after his success here last year and, while things went quiet on the results front after a subsequent second at Southwell, notice was served with a second at Newmarket on June 26th.

He returned to HQ with another decent showing on the July course a fortnight later and stepped up again with last week's win in a Handicap at Glorious Goodwood.

The four-year-old was cleverly guided through the field by Charles Bishop before taking the lead inside the final furlong and staying on to finish a neck clear of Cracking Gold.

A son of Aclaim, a Group 2 winner in the UK who also took out the 2017 Group 1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp, his Dam's Sire is Muhaarar, a winner of the Gimcrack Stakes as a two-year-old and a four-time Group 1 hero as a three-year-old sprinter.

That's pedigree to take notice of and Eve Johnson Houghton obviously fancies him for a quick turnaround a week on from his Goodwood success.

Bishop retains the ride and, as of writing, has a 15% record over the last fortnight, including a win at Newbury on Tuesday.

Great Acclaim received a 5lb penalty for last week's win on the Sussex Downs, but that shouldn't be enough to prevent him from earning a sixth career success.

Michael and David Easterby's Sondad, Heather Main's Mister Bluebird and Andrew Balding's King's Lynn all have claims, but Johnson Houghton's charge is the one to beat at Chepstow.
