Nap Of The Day: In-form Will is just the fella for us

A lacklustre effort at Kempton last night, as our nap hope Tuesday's Child ran nowhere near the level shown there just eight days ago.
For Thursday's Nap Of The Day I'm heading to a good-looking evening Newbury card. Lots of the game's finest are present in Berkshire and the contest I'm most intrigued about is the 18:25, a Class 4 handicap over the straight mile.

George Boughey trains, and the mighty Will Buick is in the plate. I was at York last week to see Buick in scintillating form and he's picked up a great ride here - though he's been on board once previously, a win on this very course some 12 months ago.
North View is a four-year-old gelded son of Expert Eye, out of a Singspiel mare. He was with Peter Chapple-Hyam until March, then had a couple of very ordinary spins for new connections (which included an ownership change; now sporting the famous double green of Munir and Souede).
However, after a break of some 86 days North View then ran ok at Yarmouth, but it was last time at Kempton 15 days ago that we glimpsed once again the decent levels he'd reached with Peter, back in the summer of 2024.
At 33/1, under Pat Cosgrave, he did his best work late in the piece, same grade and trip as tonight, going under by just 2.25l. I think George is beginning to get a handle on his quirks and capabilities, and returning to the scene of a previous success as a three-year-old he can get his career back to where it needs to be with lifetime win number three.
Getting Buick is a lovely bonus and for me, after a couple of disappointing naps in recent days, North View has a clear and bright chance of success.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
