A trio of Sunday race meetings across Britain and Ireland will all be taking place over jumps, with action from Carlisle, Naas and Warwick on a busy afternoon as the Cheltenham Festival countdown nears a conclusion.

Our Sunday NAP of the Day comes from Warwick, where Toby Lawes and champion jockey Harry Cobden will be eager to get on the scoresheet with St Pancras.

A 16-runner field is set to assemble for the JCB Novices' Hurdle over two miles at Warwick and it looks a decent contest for this Class 4 contest.

The likes of HMS President for Alan King, as well as stablemates Woodland Park and Indeevar Bleu for Olly Murphy are likely to give decent accounts but ST PANCRAS gets the nod for Toby Lawes.

The Siyouni gelding is the only four-year-old in the line-up and can make the most of the weight he receives from the field.

A dual winner on the Flat for Martyn Meade, he joined this yard in the autumn and made his jumping bow at Ascot (1m7½f, good) in January.

He was fifth that afternoon in a race won by leading Triumph Hurdle contender Lulamba, before going on to score next time in a Listed race at Musselburgh over the same trip, defying odds of 33/1.

The Grade 2 Adonis at Kempton was next, where he locked horns once more with Ascot runner-up Mondo Man. He held off Gary & Josh Moore's odds-on favourite, but could finish only second-best behind Mambonumberfive from the Ben Pauling team as the French import delivered a much-improved showing on his second start in Britain.

Considering St Pancras was giving up 5lb to the pair that he split that day, that was another improved run from him.

This represents a significant drop in class and his rating of 130 entitles him to major respect in this company.

Champion jockey Cobden is on board for the first time and started the weekend with a fine recent strike-rate of 37% from his last 27 rides.

This could be a significant booking for him, riding for the first time for this yard. St Pancras has plenty of scope for further progress and, on these terms, should take some stopping in this Warwick event.
