NAP of the Day: Keep faith with Quinault to complete a hat-trick

There are two meetings in Britain on Sunday for punters to get their teeth stuck into and the best of them comes on the Flat at York, where there is Premier racing. The feature at York is the Listed Garrowby Stakes and it’s a cracking sprint featuring several old favourites.
In Britain there is one other meeting over jumps at Fontwell and in France there is Longchamp, where the Prix du Moulin is the feature race. My Sunday NAP of the Day comes from the big race at York, where it appears to be worth keeping on side with an in-form sprinter who has racked up big sequences of victories before.
NAP of the Day - Sunday, September 8
- 16:00 York – Quinault @ 10/3
We know that Quinault is capable of putting together a string of victories because he won six in a row last season in a spell where he recorded form figures reading 11111131.
That proves he is a horse to have on side when he hits form and he has definitely done that on his last two starts.
Quinault was fast away when making all in a 6f Listed race at Chester in August and it was a similar story at Newmarket last time in another Listed event.
The selection gave weight and an easy beating to his six rivals on that occasion and that suggests he will have no problem conceding upwards of 3lb to all of these runners this time.
Quinault recorded an impressive time for a Listed race when successful at Newmarket last time and is thriving, back in the form of his life, while he proved last year that he is hard to stop when he is at his best.
He won a course-and-distance handicap during his hot period last season, so evidently likes the quick test that York provides, and that was on good to firm ground.
His last two wins have come with soft in the going description and all conditions seem to suit him. It’s therefore hard to find a chink in his armour.
Marco Ghiani, who has ridden Quinault to both of his last two victories, is back in the saddle and he has yet to taste defeat in three rides on board the progressive four-year-old.
Quinault is already the highest-rated in the lineup by 2lb, so shouldn’t have a major problem against inferior opposition, and it will be a surprise if he is beaten.
He rates a rock-solid nap on a Sunday where it’s not easy to find winners elsewhere.
