Nap of the day geenric (2)

There are four UK and Irish meetings taking place on Sunday, making it a stellar day of racing as they go hand-in-hand with the top-class action from ParisLongchamp on Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe Day. It is jump racing holding sway closer to home, with National Hunt meetings at Uttoxeter, Killarney and Kelso, as well as a mixed card at Tipperary.

Our Sunday NAP of the Day is Gordon Elliott's mare Shecouldbeanything as she goes for a second win over fences after impressing at Listowel recently.

It's a cracking card in store at Tipperary on Sunday afternoon as they mix action on the Flat and over jumps.

They have Listed action on the level via the Concorde Stakes early on and, later, a trio of Grade 3 contests over jumps including the O'Dwyer Steel Dundrum Novice Chase over two and a half miles.

Six runners will contest that event, with €18k on offer to the winner, and Gordon Elliott can land it with his runner SHECOULDBEANYTHING.

The mare was a smart hurdler, achieving a rating of 140 in winning five of her 15 races, and could be destined for better things as a chaser.

She began last month at Galway when she finished second behind the useful Noel Meade inmate Jesse Evans in a beginners' chase over two furlongs shorter.

From there it was on quickly to Listowel and the Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa Mares Novice Chase back against her own sex.

Sam Ewing was in the plate for that contest and keeps the ride here. At the Co Kerry venue, his mare travelled sweetly on soft ground during the 2m3½f journey and arrived to pick things up, going much the best at two out.

She went clear of Willie Mullins' Pink In The Park very readily and without Ewing having to get too serious.

This looks like a logical next step, back amongst geldings and with an extra furlong to tackle. It's a stronger contest on paper with consistent 132-rated Gaelic Arc and the mare Music Of Tara – rated 130 – in the picture alongside the unexposed Wexford novice chase winner Gorgeous Tom.

The last-named pair are both trained by Henry De Bromhead, while the champion trainer sends out Ballinrobe winner A Penny A Hundred, but Elliott's Shecouldbeanything is really getting the hang of things over fences and can prevent the Closutton maestro from winning a third successive renewal of this Grade 3 event.
