NAP of the Day: Third time lucky for 5/2 Varian filly?

The dust has settled on the Ebor Festival but there's still plenty of racing to enjoy on Sunday, including a seven-race card at Goodwood.
Opening the show is a nice fillies' maiden and I've singled out one of the hopefuls as my NAP of the Day.
NAP of the Day - Sunday, August 25
- 13:50 Goodwood - Eavestone @ 5/2
I suspect Charlotte's Web will prove popular ahead of Goodwood's curtain-raiser, but I prefer the claims of EAVESTONE for Roger Varian.
The three-year-old made only one appearance as a juvenile, finishing just over two lengths behind the now 109-rated, Group 2-winning Friendly Soul in a Kempton maiden, and she returned this term with another promising effort in defeat.
That was at Southwell, where she was a narrow runner-up to a nice type of Grant Tuer's and over a length in front of the rest of the field.
I'm not going to talk up that form, for it looks nothing more than average, but as it was her first run in 222 days I think it's fair to suggest a significant amount of improvement is to come.
Given she raced over 1m3f in Nottinghamshire, this furlong shorter on forecasted soft ground ought to be perfect if she conditions. Being by Lope De Vega, she ought to.
A further positive is the form of her trainer. At time of publication, he's operating at a 20% strike rate in the last two weeks courtesy of six winners from 30 runners.
Per Betfred's 13:50 Goodwood Odds, it's David O'Meara's unraced Estrange, who sports the same Cheveley Park silks as the selection, that poses the biggest threat to the aforementioned market leaders.
This 425,000gns purchase makes obvious appeal, as does William Haggas' to Christian Bruce to a lesser extent - and don't rule out Madame Sans Gene for Charlie Johnston either - but ultimately I think the logical bet is Eavestone.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
