Nap of the day generic

After a top-class day of action on Saturday, the Munster National at Limerick takes centre stage on Sunday afternoon with a full field of 16 declared.

Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins have both won the race in the last five years and the big yards unsurprisingly dominate the betting this time around, too. However, the in-form Gavin Cromwell could hold the key to this contest and we take a closer look at his pair of stayers below.

  • 15:50 Limerick - Perceval Legallois @ 6/1

Cromwell's yard are absolutely flying in recent weeks, running at a 21% strike-rate with 10 winners from their last 49 runners going into the weekend and the yard have two fascinating contenders for this year's Munster National at Limerick.

Yeah Man was in cracking form for a lot of last season and he could be a major player if fit for his return here but with some doubts about fitness on his return from more than 200 days off, his stablemate Perceval Legallois could be the way to go.

He hit the crossbar at last year's Punchestown festival before a creditable eighth in the Galway Plate and his sixth at Listowel in the Kerry National is worth upgrading given that he was hampered on more than one occasion.

The yard really excel with their staying chasers and there is surely more to come from this half-brother to three-mile chase winner Wavelength on just his eighth outing over fences.

One of these big staying handicaps looks sure to fall his way at some point and with conditions likely to be in his favour, he may be up to giving his trainer a first win in this contest.
